New three story mosque

The Muslims leaned in Kristiansand bought the mosque in 1992 and put it into use. At that time there were around 300 Muslims living in the city. In the following years, more Muslims arrived, mostly as refugees from various Islamic countries, and in 2001 there were around 1,200 Muslims in Kristiansand. The mosque had a capacity of 180 people for the Friday prayer. Since 2002, the Muslim community in Kristiansand has been searching for a bigger and better place for the Muslims. Muslim in Agder bought and built for just over NOK 5.5 million in 2012, but it was not enough for all Muslim activities, there are now around 5,000 Muslims in Kristiansand and the mosque is full during the Friday prayer and in the summer there is no room for everyone.

Muslim I Agder has now bought a three-storey building:

The building has been purchased and the costs amount to just over NOK 10 million. As of today we need approx. 80% of the total amount befor 1 June 2023.
